The National Bank of Greece Group (NBG Group) supported by the International Academy of Financial Management (IAFM), today announced the successful completion of a weeklong program in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering.
The IAFM, who designed the program for NBG, has been active in the Greek Market since 2009. The Head of EU Operations Mr. Anastasios Avranas commented, “We are incredibly excited affiliating with one of the strongest financial institutions in Southeastern Europe, the NBG Group, in the delivery of professional training programs.”
NBG Group-level programs included the following designations:
Certified Compliance Officer ; This Compliance program looks at the regulatory environment, the role of regulators and the increasing importance of good corporate governance and corporate ethics guidelines. It provided an in-depth study of international responses to the problems of money laundering, economic crime, cyber-sabotage and terrorism. Issues include the history of financial crimes and their regulation, methods of money laundering, the interaction of organized crime groups and economic crime, the uses and abuses of offshore financial centers, and cyber-sabotage.
Chartered Anti Money Laundering Officer ; this AML program is designed for all staff to raise awareness of global AML regulations, the implications of the 40 FATF (Financial Action Task Force) recommendations. The program explored capturing systems to track AML suspicious transactions, handling and reporting mechanisms for improving organizational responsiveness and damage limitation.
The IAFM has already communicated the latest development to the International Compliance Association (ICA) an independent global organization.
IAFM’s training programs, rather than being academic in nature, is very pragmatic, focused on equipping participants with a core set of critical skills, best tools and useful practices for servicing their day-to-day tasks.
The two programs took place at NBG’s Training Center between the 1st and 6th of February.
“The IAFM is one of the world’s fastest growing professional associations with more than 200,000 members, associates and affiliates in 145 countries. The IAFM is considered to be a world-class training institution and non-profit professional association , backed by internationally recognized qualifications“
